SUM: Steps to Understanding Mathematics is a professional development series and resource for Number Sense instruction that was adapted from First Steps in Mathematics (FSiM) in a partnership between RIMTA: Rhode Island Mathematics Teachers Association and RIDE: Rhode Island Department of Education. The Professional Development Course was implemented through RIMTA and has since been retired.

SUM courses are on hold for right now. Reach out to Gina or Meredith or the SUM User Group on Facebook for ongoing support.  We are also working with Bridge-RI to make this professional development more accessible.  Watch for more information in the coming months.
